FOREIGNERS STORM EKET DAY AT IBOM XMAS UNPLUGGED 2.0, As ARCHIBONG, TOMMEY LED EKET CONTINGENT TO A CLASSY PERFORMANCE AT CHRISTMAS UNPLUGGED 2.0

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong, and the Chairman of Eket Local Government Council, Mr. Akan Tommey, on Tuesday, December 3rd, led Eket contingent to an outstanding and well-coordinated performance at Christmas Unplugged Season 2.0, an annual festival held at the Unity Park, Udo Udoma, Uyo.

The event, organized by the Akwa Ibom State Government to celebrate the festive season, also serves as a platform for local governments to showcase their rich culture and heritage.

This year, Eket made a remarkable statement, affirming its pride as Idung Mfianwe—”Home of the Whites”—through their exceptional displays and poise.

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as Eket team, resplendent in catchy traditional attires, dazzled the audience with cultural presentations. Performances like Ntuk Odior Odior, Ekpe, traditional wrestling and the Abang dancers captured the soul of Eket’s cultural wealth.

Beyond the thrilling entertainment, traditional dishes unique to Eket culture were showcased, alongside ancient artifacts that told timeless stories of the people’s history and ingenuity.

Eket’s performance stood out not only for its beautiful appeal but also for the seamless organization of the performances, which reflected the high standards of the local government under Mr. Akan Tommey’s leadership and Hon. Frank Archibong’s unbroken penchant for excellence.

The outing was not just a celebration of culture but also evidence of Eket’s creative ingenuity and unity. By the end of the day, it was clear that Eket’s delegation had set the bar high for other local governments, expressing class, elegance, and a rich heritage.

With such stellar performances, Eket remains a focal point of admiration and inspiration for all.

In attendance were: The King of Eket, HRM. Edidem E.C.D Abia, Ambr.Chief Assam Assam SAN, DG of Government Business, Dr. Nsidibe Akata, member AKHA, Rt. Hon. David Lawrence, Chief Udo Isong, Hon. Uso Isong, Eket, PDP Chapter Chairman, Pst. John Odungide, Secretary Eket local government council, and a host of other dignitaries to grace the occasion.
