GETTING OUR CITIZENS AND STAKEHOLDERS TO KNOW ABOUT UMOENOTIMES NEWSPAPER.
This weekly newspaper is a child of circumstance. Birthed out of the desire of our people’s voice to be heard, especially at the grassroot.
The name of the tabloid coincides with that of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno PhD. It is intentional. We want to use the weekly tabloid to propagate and promote the plans and programmes of the Governor and his ARISE Agenda.
This is the first Governor since the creation of Akwa Ibom State, who is more interested in the development of rural areas even more than Urban areas. A day wouldn’t pass without him either laying foundation or commissioning one project in our local Communities. It’s unprecedented.
It’s truism that the Governor is not omnipresent and omniscient and therefore can’t be at all crannies of our villages and can’t know all the challenges that our local Communities are having. The voices of our people need to be heard, the challenges of people need to be known by Government. Also most citizens don’t know the intervention programs and activities of the Governor and tends to condemn the Governor for not doing well.
We recognized this issues and gap in the media landscape – a need for authentic, community-driven storytelling. Umoenotimes Newspaper is designed to fill this void, offering:
– Investigative reporting on pressing issues
– In-depth analysis and expert opinions
– Profiles of unsung heroes and community champions
– Entertainment, culture, and lifestyle features.
Yesterday, at a symposium organized by Federated Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Uyo, we made effort to introduce our Newspaper to the former Speaker,Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly 
/former MP, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke and the Akwa Ibom State Command Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP John Timfon.
The police needs all the information from our communities to help them carry out their constitutional responsibilities of policing. The UMOENOTIMES NEWSPAPER is one of those very important tools for information. dissemination.
